The premise of Please Marry My Boy is a world first. After a speed dating round between 40 girls and the four bachelors, the boys' mothers choose the three best daughter-in-law candidates.

The girls then stay in the family home and the winners are decided from there. Home and Away star and confessed amateur matchmaker Ada Nicodemou, who hosts the reality matchmaking series, said there was some genuine romance blooming in the family homes. But she also saw more than a few awkward moments, including questions about whether the girls had all their original body parts and how many sexual partners they had. Nicodemou said while one of the mums, Karen Kenny, first came across as a formidable opponent for the girls, she later revealed herself to be a sweet person.
