Just the ones you have already will be good - just ensure they are different enough to each other so that you remember which ones you've used or not.

I think the best way is to mark them with numbers and remember they can only be used as a hat. Patterns can get complicated though - I tried it many ways and you can actually put the same pattern in all 8 slots and it will still fool Jingle as he's recognising the different slots. The only thing though is that you can confuse yourself if you have the same pattern in all the slots. Having said that Jingle recognises the slots, if you swap a pattern to a different slot, he'll still recognise it but not if you copy it over.
